Summary
“Do you trust us?” Mira asked. Rumi’s gaze zeroed on her with an intensity that felt too heavy to carry on her eyes.
“I do” she said solemnly “with my life.”
The answer weighed in the room by how openly vulnerable it had been. There was a raw undertone to it, more than one way she meant it; she’d die for them, she’d trust they could save her and…she’d let them take her life.
The moment existed; it burned and went out without any of them being truly able to acknowledge it, nor ignore it.
Zoey dropped the contents of the bag, revealing a collection of brushes and a variety of paint bottles “I have an idea” she said “Well, more than that, obviously, but this one feels the most meaningful” she grabbed the supplies “maybe to help you accept yourself and for us to truly understand what you are feeling, we should feel it in the flesh as well.”
“We are going to paint the patterns on our skin, exactly as they are on yours” Mira provided.

The defeat of Gwi-Ma didn't take away the scars they had inflicted on one another. Words weren't enough to shatter the silence, but perhaps rewtriting the meaning of the patterns into their own skin could help them all understand what laid underneath.Series

Summary
“I-I…need you to have my back” Rumi all but begged, and Mira understood something fundamental. Rumi was literally leaning on her. She needed her to be the pillar because she didn’t know if she could hold herself up.
So Mira adjusted her position, lacing an arm around Rumi, her hand sliding under the fabric to touch the skin on her back, to the patterns she knew by heart, the ones that welcomed her with a pulse of light, as if greeting her home once more. The touch grounded Rumi, finally letting her settle into her own skin, draining the tension from her shoulders at the notion of having someone holding her, keeping her from crumbling down.
“Always” Mira said, and Rumi finally tilted her head up, meeting her eyes.
“Celine is coming to visit.”

Summary
“No matter what I write down, it’s not strong enough” the admission ached inside RUmi “The truth is, I’m afraid of the silence” she said breathlessly “I don’t know how to face that, how to say something that will be worth being spoken.”
Zoey carefully observed her, seeing Rumi’s lost expression, the way her eyes longed for something they didn’t seem to understand. As if she missed something she just couldn’t remember. Zoey understood she had heard something that had been locked away behind the vault of Rumi’s lips and now had escaped its imprisonment. It was heavy with meaning, but not one Zoey could understand. She couldn’t shake away the feeling that she had stumbled upon a secret. Not one she wanted to unveil, but one that planted the seed of the question regardless. Who would be deserving of that letter?
