Summary
Back in the day on the family farm, a boy's march to manhood, strength and honor was judged not by his muscles or farming skills or abilities. Any man or boy who was a success at farm work proved nothing but that he could do what he was supposed to do, nothing more or nothing less. It was how he faced failure that counted the most and especially how he faced the consequences of that failure. This is a story of the Stone farming family who will illustrate these time-honored principles.

Summary
It's not every day that a local newspaper or in this case, their online version, hands on a silver platter a story idea that is just begging to be written. I plucked this gem from the Internet while looking for something else entirely. I've only changed the boy's name, the rest of the script is exactly as the article stated on the 25th of February, 2013. Naturally, I have taken huge non-PC liberties with the situation and its outcome. The follow-up article toward the end of the story is of course a complete mock-up.

In Chapter 2 titled Blake Jamison, Jon's seventeen-year-old friend Blake with Jon both get into trouble over the off limits razor strop. In Chapter 3 titled Woodshed on the occasion of Marsh's birthday, Marsh's razor strop gets a new home and lots of action, some of it a surprise!

Summary
This sober non-sexual story focuses about the importance of family, that when a father's son crosses his father's expectations of proper behavior, that the son's bottom is bared and dealt with in the old family woodshed. And that being woke in present parlance is all good and fine, but never trumps family as well as the notion that apples but seldom ever fall far from their parental trees of origins. Enjoy!

There are many definitions of woke, but in the context of a modern family structure, woke describes a younger generation’s embrace of progressive social values—centered on identity, equity, and systemic awareness—in contrast to their parents’ more traditional, rule-based worldview. In this case woke initially rejects the use of physical corporal punishment as discipline.
