Summary
Deep in a dank crypt a mage enacts a ritual to bring forth a succubus who will fulfil his plans to take control of a war-weary nation. There's a great deal about summoning that he doesn't know, though. Namely that you can't trust everything you read in old tomes.
The summoned daemon finds herself alone in a world not her own and must seek friends and a way to return home.

Aela has a problem. Her usual fence for disposing of her illicitly acquired goods has been ratted out and the city’s excise men have put him out of business, perhaps for good. Left with a bag full of hot property, the elven thief knows that she needs to get rid of it as quickly as possible, lest any overly eager guard inspect her belongings.
The only solution is to use one of her ‘colleagues’ recommended middlemen and so Aela hurriedly seeks her out. A wolf-like lupuran woman by the name of Idonia, who just so happens to be the proprietress of one of the most well-respected mercenary outfitters in Vestel. Yet with no established relationship with the woman things have the potential get a bit tricky. Thankfully, Aela is rather adept at such negotiations.
