Summary
Max Verstappen was an omega taught from a young age that hiding was safer than being seen. When he joined Formula 1 at seventeen, he briefly found belonging with the grid pack—until one night in 2021 when he was asked to leave the pack room. It was only for a night, but to Max, it was enough. He walked away for good, promising himself he would never risk being left again.
Years later, as a four-time world champion, Max revealed the truth he once buried. The world reacted—and so did the FIA, enforcing a rule that gave unmarked omegas four months to be mated or join a pack. Trapped by time and pressure, Max agreed to a relationship that looked right but felt wrong.
When it fell apart, old feelings resurfaced and regrets grew louder.

The 2026 season begins with Max Verstappen finally at peace—back in the grid pack, surrounded by drivers old and new, even familiar faces returning to the fold as the sport changes around them. For the first time, Max doesn’t question his choice. He belongs.
Then testing goes wrong.
A violent crash leaves Max physically able to race but strips away everything else. He remembers he is an F1 driver—but not the pack, not the bonds, not the years of loss, love, and return. To him, they are strangers wearing concern like a burden he never asked for.
