2. Avoid the other Talons.
3. For the love of the Maker- Don't draw attention to yourself.

For a while those rules kept her alive and safe...until it didn't.
How was she supposed to know the Crows had bigger plans against the Antaam if no one told her, Viago!?
Disgraced and (temporarily) disowned, she left the Crows to save the world. After all, how long could it possibly take? A week? Maybe two tops? Plenty of time for the Antaam matter to blow over.
