Summary
Now, though. Now, Okkotsu’s teeth are bared, his eyes dark, all color lost as he grips his limp Guide, practically snarling. His power is heavy in the air, almost a physical weight, and the other Espers have fallen back so as not to antagonize him. In theory, a Guide should be able to get to him and shut him down, if he is not completely feral, but Toge is not so sure. He’s closer than the others at this point and can see what they cannot.
Orimoto Rika is dead.
Esper Okkotsu Yuuta meets Guide Inumaki Toge on the worst day of his life.

Summary
Esper Yuuta is called to account for some... interesting reports from the field regarding him and his Guide, Inumaki Toge.
“As you know, Command has a lot of faith in you two. I’ve heard nothing but glowing praise from your superiors.” Shoko eyes him sideways. “From your teammates, however…” She taps a few papers on her desk for dramatic effect. “There have been, shall we say, some less than enthusiastic reports.”
“Really?” he asks, carefully expressionless.

Summary
She knows him well enough now that she can see it, has seen it, sometimes, in the way he fights on the battlefield. Okkotsu’s rage burns cold, right down to the bone. He will never scream with fury or erupt in a rampage.
He will simply kill them all with a single, clean sword stroke and flick their blood from his blade after without batting an eyelash.
Okkotsu Yuuta can't lose another Guide. He can't. He won't.
