Summary
A few months ago, he would’ve wanted to go back. He knows where. But he doesn’t even want that anymore. There’s nothing left there for him.
He keeps walking. There are only more villagers.
Tripwires for emeralds. He likes his villagers because they are simple creatures. An eye for an eye, and they are happy. 1 by 1 enclosures, and they stare blankly into his eyes when he hands the stack of emeralds over.
When he hears the splash of water from far behind him, he understands it’s never that easy.
