Finals were over. Classes were over. Violet had already dedicated her entire summer to working with Xaden on research, and for this brief moment, there were no responsibilities holding her back.
Well… there was one thing holding her back.
“Can’t,” she told him, surprised by the regret in her own voice. “I’m moving.”
Xaden, however, didn’t miss a beat. “I’ll help.”
“You’ll… help?” Violet questioned blankly.
