“Did you see that, Zai?” Iroh beams, teeth shining bright in the late afternoon sun. His shoes clatter as he practically skips down the steps, hands planted proudly on his hips, his brow free of sweat. “Did you see your older brother finish katas meant for soldiers twice his age? That was pretty cool, huh?”
Ozai doesn’t yet understand the words. Still, he toddles forward, bare soles tickled by the coarse grains of the training yard, until he tips straight into Iroh's outstretched arms.
