She finds herself becoming more and more obsessed with a certain underground detective and former leader of the Galaxy Rangers. Jing Yuan places a hand onto Ashveil’s exposed shoulder, fingers rubbing at the golden necklace and admiring its smooth texture. Then he presses down, so that Ashveil is forced to lie flat on his back. The detective finally looks up apprehensively at the other, throat bobbing as he takes in just how big Jing Yuan is compared to him and how his body nearly covers Ashveil’s own.
“Dressed up just for me?” A husky voice murmurs directly into Ashveil’s ear, making him shiver. “Oh, don’t you just look so delectable. So beautiful.”
Jing Yuan leans down, moving his hands so they land on either side of Ashveil’s head and bracket him in. Ashveil can feel the scorching warmth radiating off Jing Yuan’s thighs, so close to his own that they’re nearly touching.
“I could just eat you up, Ashveil.”
A sequel to Possession is Nine-Tenths of the Law. Not necessary to read that beforehand, but it helps to understand more of what’s going on here. More explicit smut here, but now we start having an actual plot.

Summary
Dan Feng stares down at Ashveil with disdain, as if the latter is nothing but a speck of dust beneath his feet. The Vidyahara watches with unblinking eyes as Ashveil staggers up to a seated position, dragging the covers around his body.
The whole room is so dark. Even as Ashveil blinks rapidly, he can just barely make out the faint details. The only source of light comes from Dan Feng’s glowing eyes.
Ashveil swallows, a cold hollow feeling in the pit of his stomach. His eyes play tricks on him, unable to discern things in the inky blackness. He flinches minutely every time Dan Feng’s tail rattles next to his ear.
“Did you have a nice dream?” Imbibitor Lunae asks neutrally, his eyes gleaming like cold stars. His sharp nails tap against the side table rhythmically.
“I wonder— where do you go, when you sleep? You had a very peaceful expression on your face just now, Ashveil. Do you think you can escape from here if you’re deep in slumber?”
He pauses. His fingers still. “How cute,” he says without an ounce of sincerity. “Stupidly naive, too.”

Pearl strokes Ashveil’s tongue several times before speaking. “Ashveil,” she starts, making direct eye contact. It’s a little difficult with how Ashveil’s eyes tend to slide off her, but she shakes his head a little until he looks at her again.
“You know that I love you,” she says carefully, watching his face as it crumples in despair. He tries to shake his head, but Pearl’s grip is like steel. “That’s why I’m doing this. If I didn’t love you, if I didn’t care about you - I wouldn’t go this far to correct your behavior.”
She brings her other hand up to cup Ashveil’s sweaty cheek. She leans forward, close enough to brush her nose against his. “And you broke a rule, didn’t you? The most important rule. So, you deserve this punishment. But more than that - Ashveil, look at me - you need to truly understand that you were wrong. That you need to learn.”
Pearl shushes Ashveil when he garbles out a few words, and he falls silent. “And you cannot learn, without punishment,” she finishes. Her hair falls across her shoulders, shadowing her face.

“Hey. That guy you were talking about before,” Silver Wolf utters slowly. Reluctantly. Like each word is akin to walking over broken glass.
“Remember when Elio first told us about our mission on Planarcadia? When he said that, you mentioned someone from your past that lives here. La Mancha, or whatever. Supreme former leader of the Galaxy Rangers. Ring a bell?”
The name jolts a sudden feeling of nostalgia in Blade’s mind, surprising but not unpleasant. Familiar warmth (and a quiet, youthful admiration) blooms in his chest. He swallows, throat dry. “...Yeah?” he coughs.
“Is…” Silver Wolf hesitates, then forges onward. “Is this him?”
Blade watches as the computer monitor flickers, then reveals a photograph of an achingly familiar face.
After the Trailblazer wins the Phantasmoon Games, Blade thinks his role on Planarcadia has come to an end. Ready to leave the planet of Elation behind, he embarks on one last mission to steal crucial information from Pearl’s database - but finds a horrifying secret (and a familiar face) buried inside.
Blade is determined to help Ashveil recover, no matter what the cost.
