I’m unfortunately calling Pride of Pandora 2026 here a little earlier than I originally planned.

I’m genuinely really upset about it, because this was an extremely ambitious project that I was excited about for a long time, and I had already written or partially drafted a lot more than what ended up being posted. unfortunately, the past couple of months have also been kind of brutal. I’ve been dealing with some pretty severe mental health issues, multiple family members being incredibly sick—especially my mom, who I’ve also been helping take care of—and a handful of complications with my job and general real-life chaos.

eventually, trying to finish and post thirty separate stories stopped feeling exciting and started feeling like another obligation I was failing to keep up with, which was not what I wanted this project to become. I love writing, I love these characters, and I still really love the idea behind this collection. I would rather stop here than keep dragging myself through it until I resent the whole thing completely.

the unfinished stories are not being thrown away, though. I’m planning to revise, rework, and use them for Pride Month next June, hopefully with a less deranged schedule and considerably fewer personal disasters happening at once. so some of the ideas from the original thirty-day lineup will still get their day; they’re just being put into cryosleep for a while.

thank you so much to everyone who read, commented, left kudos, or was patient while the posting schedule slowly disintegrated in real time. I know no one is actually standing behind me with an axe demanding thirty blue alien pride stories—at least I sincerely hope not, because that would be a thoroughly disappointing use of both an axe and someone’s free time :") but I still wanted to acknowledge that I didn’t finish what I originally announced.

I’m proud of what I did manage to post, even if I wish there had been more of it. this project ended up carrying me through a very strange and difficult stretch of my life, and I don’t want the circumstances around its ending to erase how much love went into it.
