Daniel didn’t want to fight, not really. For all of his seventy two years he’d fought his sexuality, then addiction, then Parkinson’s, then vampire loneliness, and he was so, so tired of fighting. Plus fighting, at this point, would ensure that Armand’s episode continues.
He finally knows why his maker’s distress cuts him so deep. Armand glances up. His eyes are huge, apocalyptic, squeezing shut. His mouth is quivering, emitting nonsense whimpers. He’s waiting to be thrown into a wall.
Not today. Never again, if Daniel can help it. Daniel steps over to Armand, lowers himself to the ground beside him. Armand’s arms wrap around himself, bracing for impact.

Armand cocks his head to the side, bewildered. “I don't believe I recall a time you've ever denied my blood twice in the same twenty four hours. Have I done something?”
Daniel huffs a laugh at Armand's ridiculous conclusion. When he resisted Armand’s offer the previous evening, it'd been because his maker was amidst a nuclear meltdown, and he’s not adding himself to the long list of men that’ve taken advantage of Armand’s decimated state.
Of course Daniel wants, *needs* his maker’s blood. Like a mortal needs air. He just wants it… from somewhere else.
“Cute. No, babe. Got it all wrong.”
