Summary
King Henselt of Temeria was a fucking moron who tried to assassinate the White Wolf. 24 hours later, Eskel Amber-Eyed had a new vassal-king on the throne of Temeria. 48 hours after that, teams of Witchers fan out from Temeria to bring the Wolf’s Law and the Witcher’s Protection to the newly conquered lands.
Astor of Griffin School is fairly certain his team is the only one this far south when they pick up the trail of some Alps. He wasn’t expecting to meet a Witcher, and of the Cat school no less. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to have to kill the Cat that first night. But the Witcher owns a slave, an anathema that Astor cannot abide. And the slave is frankly terrified of the Wolf’s Witchers. Astor has sworn an oath to fight the monsters and especially the monstrous men. How can he navigate this knife’s edge of not becoming one of them?
