Summary
Aventurine awakens with a jerk of his reconstructed jaw. Gold-brown metal gleams where synthetic skin once stretched. His lips twitch experimentally and his eyes are still so, damningly red but they refocus on Ratio and Aventurine's back online again.
Ratio knows Aventurine won't like this—knows it in the marrow of his weary bones—but still, the apology stumbles from his lips like a child unsure of its first steps. “I’m sorry,” he murmurs, and in this moment, Ratio feels the true beginning of the end.
Aventurine simply tilts his head with the inevitability of a conclusion. His voice, when it comes, is calm, devoid of accusation. “Sunday won’t let me stay, will he?”
It isn’t a question.
Or:
Ratio rebuilds Aventurine again. And again. And again.

"Aeons, if you hear me. Please grant me one last wish and I’ll never show my sorry alabaster again."

A slap of the wrist is all that it takes for Ratio to concentrate. Androids in this world cannot live in peace anymore, so they must leave. It was masterful for Aventurine to think of such a plan, all in the guise of keeping Ratio safe. He didn’t mind if he died, because he knows that he’ll be fixed. But it all came underway, and they’ve only managed to narrowly escape from Sunday’s grasp. Ratio has such little time, but he wants to fix Aventurine to perfection. A gunshot to the head isn’t an easy wound to fix on an android.
He should’ve dragged Aventurine to safety. He should’ve aimed for the sanctuary. But Ratio simply doesn’t think that it’s efficient enough. Aventurine needs to come back to him now.
TLDR; Rota Fortunae Ratiorine in which Ratio tries to fix the aftermath of what happened to Aventurine.

Сейчас он походил на отчаянного ученого, пытавшегося снова и снова запустить в полет птицу без крыла. «Птица» лежала около него на рабочем столе с пробитой от пули головой. У обычного человека при такой травме моментально бы вышла из строя затылочная доля, надеяться на чудо было бы глупо. Но к счастью, или к сожалению, находился перед Рацио вовсе не человек.
