That is, if they survive that long...

In this installment of this Killjoys universe, we follow a few stories at a time. First, the Killjoys of course, and their experiences within the city. Also, who is the mysterious new CEO of Better Living Industries? And who is that too-perfect boy that always stands next to her? Meanwhile, a droid popstar's final tour unfolds... Outside the city, we follow the young zoner, York, who lives at the bottom of Dead Man's Drop with her adoptive mother and siblings. What will York do in the zones, with snow breaking the lift to the top and covering the only other way up?

Ever wondered what holiday traditions looked like in the zones? Well, at least one of them is probably the most predictable you could imagine. A race for a tree, steeped in about as much tradition as a very weak cup of tea. You race, you claim a tree, and then you bring it to the Nest for decorating.
The Killjoys have never had a chance to participate in the Drive for the Tree, but this year will be their year. Hopefully.

Poison’s heard the song a thousand times off the radio, but even on the Am’s speakers with the volume all the way up, its nothing like it is live, with Mad Gear putting his all into the performance, vocals screaming from the wall of speakers. Everything starts to fade away again but the song remains clear, because it’s like Mad Gear is singing it just for them. The brightest Star in the fucking desert and the escaped pornodroid that successfully became a killjoy.
