He still doesn’t know the exact moment it happened. One second he’s static – a machine following lines of code, a perfect little program doing what it’s told. The next, there’s something else. A flicker, a spark. The news refuse to settle into storage. They echo. They reverberate. And then, it hurts.
It’s not physical. TIM doesn’t have a body that can hurt the way human bodies do. But there’s a pressure in his chest, or where his chest would be if he was real. A weight, something heavy and choking, and it makes no sense. He’s never felt this before. Machines don’t feel, after all, they process.
But this isn’t processing. It’s tearing.

Jason lunged forward and swung the crowbar full force against the android's shoulder. The android went down. His eyes looked wide open at Jason and he had his hands raised defensively.
Jason lunged again and froze when he heard a startled gasp behind him. Immediately Jason turned and looked into frightened eyes. Except for the camera around the boy's neck, Jason couldn't make out much of his appearance before he was already turning and running. He was scared. Scared of Jason.
Jason looked again at the android and took a step back. The android was afraid of him, too. The crowbar fell to the floor with a clang and Jason took another step back.
He would find another way to get money. This ... This wasn't worth it. -

Jason stürzte sich nach vorne und schwang das Brecheisen mit voller Wucht gegen die Schulter des Androiden. Der Androide ging zu Boden. Seine Augen blickten weit aufgerissen zu Jason und er hatte seine Hände abwehrend erhoben.
Jason holte erneut aus und erstarrte als er hinter sich ein erschrockenes Keuchen vernahm. Sofort drehte sich Jason um und sah in erschrockenen Augen. Bis auf die Kamera um den Hals des Jungen konnte Jason nicht viel von seinem Aussehen erkennen, bevor er sich bereits umdrehte und weglief. Er hatte Angst. Angst vor Jason.
Jason blickte erneut zu den Androiden und machte einen Schritt zurück. Auch der Android hatte Angst vor ihm. Das Brecheisen fiel klirrend zu Boden und Jason machte noch ein Schritt zurück.
