Summary
Two weeks after the battle of the hotel, Charlie and the others are still reeling from their losses and changes. Alastor hasn’t returned, Pentious is gone, and there’s a whole new hotel to set up as they prepare for new Sinners in the program. And to make matters even stranger, an unexpected person shows up at the hotel doors asking for sanctuary: Lilith, Queen of Hell, missing for seven years.
Charlie is more than happy to give her mom a place to stay and hide after hearing the story of her kidnapping. But Lilith has other objectives in mind, and Charlie finds herself shoved into an empty pocket world made of literal nothingness for her own protection.
Well, nearly empty. At least she knows where Alastor is, now.

In the battle against the exorcists, Alastor isn’t strong enough to flee; only to hide in the shadows, while he holds himself together. He witnesses Charlie’s fall to the roof, and how powerless she is against Adam. And in that moment, Alastor has a choice to make.

Summary
Charlie looked at the scene around her. The horrific, absolutely brutal and devastating scene before her. All of her friends were dead, and she only managed to survive from pure luck. She played dead long enough to narrowly dodge Adam’s short attention span, and then he and the rest of his exorcist army flew away, off to reign terror on the rest of Hell. Usually, Charlie would care more about that. She would try to stand up for her citizens, at least shed a tear for them, or her terribly mutilated friends. But all she could feel right now was numb, she was past the point of empathy and sadness, now all she could do was watch, watch and listen as the last of the terrified screams rang out, as the last bit of resistance faded, as her friend’s—no, family’s blood grew colder and colder.
During the extermination, Charlie makes a big mistake. Now, she is left to suffer the consequences and rebuild her life after the people that she loves most are dead. How will she recover from this and come out sane? (Spoilers: she doesn’t. At least not easily.)
