If you told Vee that she would differentiate between being a living, real toon and a robot counterpart, experience ‘human’ emotions and fall in love with one of her best friends, all in the span of two months, she would hit you at the back of your head and frown at you, causing you to fall over onto the ground like a crippled old man with horrible back and knee pain.
However, if you also told Vee, that, over the course of a few years, Dandy would slowly lose bits of himself to the ichor operation, going insane in the process, jeopardizing Gardenview and causing it to close, she would also have not believed you.

Summary
It's been months, maybe over a year, since Gardenview shut down, and the toons have been surviving fine enough, even as Ichor slowly corrupts them, wearing on their sanity and mutating their bodies. Dandy's doing his best to keep the place powered and his friends safe, but ever since the twisteds started showing up shortly after the shutdown things have only gotten more difficult as injuries and sickness took root, and things are starting to reach a breaking point.
Several of the toons have been pretty severely infected with whatever the Ichor that the twisteds consist of, most of the rest with varying stages of corruption, and only a lucky few being totally healthy. At this point Dandy is just thankful not one of his fellow toons has been killed.
It won't last. -
