He’s kept the damn thing turned off for most of the day. As a rule, he stays fairly available on Sundays, but—well, extenuating circumstances call for extreme reactions. Thankfully, he had kept enough of his head after Mass to force a shutdown instead of what he wanted to do, which was to hurl it against the wall and watch it shatter into a million tiny pieces.
Night is young, though.

After almost almost getting her killed any number of times, somehow Mulder knew that asking her to forgive more mundane betrayals would be the final straw. Abduction? Possession? Cannibalism? All in a day’s work. Leaving sunflower shells everywhere? That was a bridge too far. It was better, safer, sweeter, kinder to love each other the way they did. To keep some mystery alive, and with it her steadfast belief in him. Delaying consummation was delaying his inevitable disappointment of her.

Once then, his brows shot up a little, seeing if Foggy understood. Foggy took a moment, trying to piece together what Matt was saying and showing. After a second, it hit him. "Let me get this straight. You, Matt Murdock, got Karen Page pregnant?" Matt mouthed a silent "Yeah" in response. It wasn't his intention. This life they had, it wasn't for the faint of heart. And especially not for a damn baby. To make things worse, his past wasn't the best, and neither was Karen's. A baby wasn't the best thing here. Matt was barely holding on through this. But he didn't let it show.
