At the table some paces away, there sat a man, heavy-set and grizzled. His bathrobe was an indeterminate color in the moonlight, and above his left brow, a smooth white scar rose like a hill.“Who the hell are you? How did you get in?” Hem rose instinctively on the balls of his feet.
The man grinned like a Cheshire cat, his face coming fully into view. The right side seemed to be covered with dark lacquer.
“Well, fröhliche Weinachten to you too,” he said, raising a glass that came from Hem knew not where.
At the sound of his voice, Hem nearly toppled.

Violet, Klaus, and Millie Baudelaire have, once again, narrowly cheated death. A true ensemble story that is funny, romantic, full of heart and a little sexy. The story is canon compliant(ish), mostly in the fact that I try to stay very true to everyone's personalities and motivations, and there is often the thread of canon in-game happenings going on in the background.
However, I am deeply invested in a non-canon pairing, and most of the daily activities/relationship beats/family events of our Sandrock citizens just come straight from my pretty little head.

Helen refuses to believe that the art is more important than she is.
Madeline doesn’t know which she believes is more important. What she does know is that the art cannot compromise, and Helen can. Helen could, but doesn’t. Not enough. Helen only ever offers false compromises, and then she acts like Madeline is unreasonable for not being satisfied by them.
So maybe they just don't belong together.

When Sam came back to the facility to shut down the Goa’uld forceshield, she'd expected to find Colonel O’Neill. She had actually planned on it. No man left behind.
But Sam hadn't expected to find a 12 year old kid named Daisy, who was somehow immune to Hathor’s breathing virus and... who had also rejected and killed a Goa’uld symbiote– Hathor herself, when Hathor had tried taking her over as a host.
She and Col. O'Neill had brought Daisy back home... and then things had gone wrong. Daisy was dying. Desperate, Sam and Jack used Ancient Technology to save Daisy, setting off a chain of events that would change their lives, the SGC, Earth, their galaxy and the universe.
Daisy didn't remember much from before Hathor had woken her up and tried to take over her body. Just her name and a few other things.

During the performance her hands would linger atop of her chest for longer than usual, she'd steal glances at them and flutter her eyelashes, though it was difficult to tell at which one of them they were directed at, and Helen was sure that at one point she purposely showed off more of her leg.
