Where "Stephen" is angry all the time but afraid to show other emotions, the liberal AU "Stephen" emotes like crazy but is afraid to express his anger. So he bottles it up and pretends he doesn't feel it at all.

It all started with a prompt in LGBTfest 2009: Per 10-02-07, we have a canon AU in which "Stephen" is ~fabulously~ liberal. What does his sexuality mean in that universe?
Mostly it means he equates any kind of boundaries with discrimination, doesn't understand why everyone can't be bi and poly, and, as Robert Frost might put it, is too broadminded to come to his own defense in a hate crime.
