Summary
Both of them are thinking of strategy and standing, but Gurney views the act as one of conquest. Feyd-Rautha capturing Paul like one might take a city, or worse, Paul surrendering to his attack. His bias blinds him; he cannot see Paul but anything as a boy, naive to threats of the world, and Feyd-Rautha as a monstrous amalgamation of Baron Harkonnen and the Beast Rabban.
But Feyd-Rautha is a different animal entirely, and Paul is learning to handle him. The kiss was his victory.

At the center of Imperial power, he would encounter another who he was inextricably drawn to. A boy with green eyes and a hawk as his heraldry. A boy that challenged Feyd at every step.
It would be the first but unfortunately not be the last time Feyd-Rautha met Paul Atreides. Were the currents of time kinder, their relation would have ended after that singular meeting. But theirs was a union ten thousand years in the making. The shackles of fate are not quite so easy to break and the Known Universe bled for it.
Or, Feyd is down bad for Paul, Paul is equally obsessed, and everyone else suffers.
