It has always struck me as perplexing that the characters in The Thing, who are portrayed as educated and intelligent scientists, often fail to exhibit logical reasoning in critical situations. Despite their advanced knowledge and expertise, they make decisions that lead to their downfall, succumbing to panic and irrationality in the face of an alien threat. In my interpretation, these men should have approached the alien encounter with a more strategic mindset, utilizing their scientific training to analyze the situation methodically. Instead of allowing fear to dictate their actions, they could have collaborated to devise a plan that prioritized safety and rationality, employing their collective intellect to outsmart the creature rather than falling victim to its manipulations.
This is simply a crack fic; I have written because I am salty on how it ended.

Basic Summary: Copper gets his niece to come and join them at the outpost for a couple months to assist with some work as she has completed her master's in human biology, and that she needed to drop off supplies to the outpost. So, for the next few months, she remains at Outpost 31, where she's stuck with not only an absolute asshole of a man, but an asshole of a man that makes her question her current relationship.
