Now that they had a plan in place all they had to do was set it in motion. The only problem was that they knew they wouldn't stand a chance without Brooklyn at their backs. Unfortunately, that meant that Jack needed to talk to Spot and they haven't seen each other since the disaster back at the rally which has left resentment festering between them.
Luckily for Jack his boys refuse to let him travel to Brooklyn alone knowing that the tensions were so high. All he has to do is convince Spot that he wasn't a rotten scab. That couldn't be too hard, right? Who was he kidding, he was a dead man walking.

Scabs and bulls alike, with weapons from bats to rusted pipes, to chains and wooden planks with nails hammered into them. He couldn’t say he wasn’t terrified at the sight, because his body was betraying him to its fullest extent. He backed up, limbs shaking as he took into account the amount of men and weapons walking through those double doors.Or, what I think Jack was thinking during the confrontation in the courtyard, and what I think might've happened after.

Instead of just having Jack sleep on the printing press the Delancey's and Snyder do much worse. At the same time the newsies are falling apart without their leader even with David's attempts to cover till Jack gets back. Katherine knows Jack needs help but will the newsies still trust her after they learn the truth.
OR
I always found it weird that the only thing the Delancey's did to Jack when they had the chance to seriously harm him, was have him sleep on a printing press, so I changed that. There is also a lot of hurt for Jack but a lot of love from his newsies, Katherine and Medda for him after.
