Following the story of Attack on Titan from before the fall of Shiganshina to the final struggle for the future of the world, this canon-divergent retelling focuses on the characters we already know and love and throws in a bunch of my own OCs, some things are changed a lot, others largely stay the same. Some canon characters get a little bit more attention than in the source material, also, I have changed the timeline and lengthened the titan shifter lifespan from 13 to 15 years. Fight me.
WARNING: this is an extremely self-indulgent, self-insert-adjacent fic that will probably interest no one but myself but which I've been working on/obsessing over for well over a year now and I might as well share it in case anybody else is interested. Most events are the same with the addition of a few new characters and some alteration of the main story's rules (and maybe even the outcome, I haven't decided yet). Read at your own peril, this was written exclusively for me to have fun.

I was lucky enough to be part of that legend.
So, when I met V, Streetkid and merc, blazing forward relentlessly on a path to glory that she craved so badly, it was like I knew exactly why before she’d even spoken a single word to me. There was something in her demeanor, in the way she smirked, the way she looked at me.
He was in there, and he’d led her to me.
