They inched in closer to the object as the sound of a cannon went off from the neighbouring ship, however nothing came their way.
“You said there was only one ship,” He yelled up at Tokoyami, who was hanging from the main mast, looking out into the sea.
“There is, Captain?” He replied quickly.
“Then what the fuck are the firing at?"
“Uh, it seems they’re firing… at the water, Captain.”

Instantaneously a siren appeared on the rocks Bakugo’s heart starts so race frozen in shock. The sirens green eyes penetrating through him his deep green scales glistening in the moonlight which had appeared behind him painting his soft features in a ethereal light. He was breath-taking.
katsuki starts to back away before stumbling on a rope in his ship falling back hitting the deck with a thud, he scrambles to look once more before realising the siren is gone, looking all around him trying to find such a beauty once more.

It was by chance that Katsuki had caught wind of the markets having collected a creature they coded as a "Sea Naiad" or “Son of Nereid”.
He was just closing in on a deal of his new purchase of one of the rarest fish found in Japan waters; The Elusive Oarfish, otherwise known as ‘Ryugu no tsukai’.
Originally, he only heard the name "Ryugin Decedent" getting thrown around, but after making his investigation of this new rarity of the sea the markets seem fond of keeping hidden, the more intrigued he became. Especially when the names started to become eerily specific.
A Sea Naiad.
They caught merfolk.
And as a collector of Legend-Becoming (going extinct), it would be unwise to not let such an absolute specimen slip through his fingers and into the hands of another greedy buyer.

Katsuki, a man with unbelievably deep pockets, is a collector and a mermaid he later names Izuku is up for purchase. A lot of unexpected developments come between them, and it's more than just simple curiosity and admiration of each-other’s mind. But of the body too.
