Summary
The sequel to One of our reporters is missing - crossover between The Newsreader and Interview with the Vampire. No need to have read original story - Louis mistook Dale Jennings for Lestat. Lestat becomes implicated in the kidnapping of Dale, which involves Armand promising Daniel Molloy an interview with Lestat if he provides him with an alibi.

Interview with Michael Lucas at 5.44 minutes - as it was being avidly followed by people in The Newsreader writers' room!)Meanwhile, the news from Australia about the kidnapping catches the attention of Daniel Molloy, up and coming investigative reporter, living in New York. It reminds him of a time he lost 4 days in San Francisco, after leaving a bar with a guy called Louis. Daniel sends Dale a couple of books (Interview with the vampire and The vampire Lestat) and when Dale gets in touch, he makes him an offer he can't refuse.

Summary
It is 1986. Louis sees a TV news broadcast while waiting for a connecting flight.
He buys a ticket to Melbourne, intent on asking Lestat what the hell he thinks he's up to pretending to be a news reporter.
Meanwhile, Dale Jennings has no idea what's about to come hurtling through his front door in the middle of the night.
Please note - this story was written and completed before S2 of IWTV aired, so the timeline from The Vampire Chronicles was used and not the new timeline established in the show. [I realise this would be confusing otherwise to anyone starting to read the fic since S2 was shown].
PS - new chapter 24 is the first chapter of the sequel, now being posted, Once Bitten, Twice Shy - Dale and Tim go investigating with Daniel Molloy.
