He blinked and turned around, not sure if he was surprised or not by the fact that the Axolotl was still there.
He couldn’t read their blank expression.
“Heh!” Bill snickered, crossing his arms. “Turns out it was flammable after all! How about you fireproof your, ahem, indestructible domain next time around, eh? Wouldn’t want anyone getting any more bright ideas!”
Bill expected the Axolotl to be mad or, at the very least, look disappointed, only to be taken aback as he saw the corners of their mouth quirk up slightly after Bill broke the deafening silence. “Yes. That would be terrible, indeed.”
