Summary
Minato slowly makes his way deeper into the ancient shrine. The frightened villagers who begged him to exorcise whatever fearsome demon had invaded gave him a lantern, but shadows still cling to the corners of the high ceiling. He slowly turns, scanning the walls (cluttered with hangings in illegibly fancy calligraphy) as he shuffles along the dusty wooden floor.
There's suddenly a rustling noise behind him, and Minato turns, robes whirling around him and staff extended – a rat skitters across the floor and whisks out of sight. Minato slowly breathes out, trying to center himself, before turning around again to continue deeper into the shrine.
