"We found him," Isaac said over the phone, but he didn't sound any less worried. More than that, he was whispering, hesitant, and definitely hiding something from Derek.
The older werewolf held his breath. A familiar cold chill hit his bloodstream, a wave of thinly restrained panic that left a heavy hollow below his lungs, pulling at his heart like a fish hook and threatening to drag him right into the ground. The woods around him pressed in, trees like looming jail cell bars, and he felt suddenly claustrophobic in a wide-open space.
Not him, was the only thought he could manage. Not anyone else, ever again, please, God.
I'm so tired of losing.
"Tell me," he bit out. "Isaac, just tell me."
"He's alive, okay?" Isaac murmured. "Just- he's, uh. Derek, he's a dog."

Summary
Derek stepped closer until Stiles could feel the solid line of him at his back, and suddenly he was way too aware of what he’d been doing when Derek showed up.
There was a fucking lingerie set sitting in his cart that he wanted to wear for fun. Just thinking about it sent a nervous thrill through him, excitement tangled up somewhere in the embarrassment. His fingers moved quickly over the trackpad, hoping the werewolf couldn’t pick up on whatever the hell was happening to him.
Stiles comes back to Beacon Hills for spring break hoping for an escape from thinking about graduation and whatever comes after. Instead, a pair of panties sends him down a lingerie rabbit hole just as Derek pulls him into a string of attacks near the preserve.
With Derek so close again, Stiles starts connecting this new side of himself to desires that have been there for years. He likes the way dressing up makes him feel, but he starts wanting something more from it. He wants Derek to see him that way, and the more he imagines what that could be like, the more he craves Derek’s praise and the kind of care that makes letting go feel easy.

Matt stood there next to him, red solo cup in hand, and his camera dangled from the strap around his neck.
"You know what your problem is?"
Stiles felt his eyes slightly widen, taken aback because what the fuck does that mean?
"Interesting way to greet someone, dude," He tried to sound playful, but he was slightly annoyed now, so he was sure that was noticeable in his voice and expression. Matt ignored his comment completely and turned around to look outside through the open sliding door, pointing a finger toward it with the hand still around his cup.
Stiles looked over his shoulder at what —who— Matt was pointing at. Scott stood there, talking and laughing with Liam, who had made his way outside without him noticing. Liam's friends, Corey, Mason and Hayden, were there too, accompanied by Isaac, who dragged Boyd and Erica along. Then there were Danny and Jackson, with Lydia huddled close to Allison.
"You're their DUFF."
"Their what?"
"DUFF— designated ugly fat friend," Stiles stayed silent and shifted his gaze back to the friend group outside, "You and I? We make them look better, more popular, more desirable." All Stiles could do was laugh.
