Summary
Pockets of silence between them become common and marked with blood. Gun has a broken arm, Goo silently drives him to their doctor. Goo hurt his back after a nasty fall, and Gun silently massages away the pain. Gun got swiped across the chest, deep gnarly gashes, and Goo takes care of it, still silent, but their faces aren’t blank like they were the first few times. Now, Gun scowls and huffs at Goo’s injuries, and Goo sets his mouth into a flat, angry line every time he’s tending to Gun.
They’re only quiet with each other when one of them is injured, and whenever one is injured, the other quietly tends to them.
It’s a truce, a pact, something they both take very seriously. It means that they can only be vulnerable with each other in those quiet moments. It means they can be vulnerable with each other. And despite himself, Gun doesn’t ever worry Goo will hurt him in those moments.

“You figure it out, kid?” The glass door to the lab hisses open once the retinal scanner clears him. He carries the two mugs around the corner while Dum-E beeps at him. “Just let--” Tony stops in his tracks.
Oh no. Peter is sitting on the floor in the center of the large lab, staring ahead at a wavy, blue hologram. His Stark Pad lies abandoned in his lap. Tony hears his own voice, the message he recorded before the team descended on Sanctuary, determined to destroy Thanos and reverse his actions, or die trying.

Maybe he’d feel better if he closed his eyes, just for a second. It was too dark to see anything clearly anyway, and he’d be able to concentrate better without seeing how fast the ground was coming up to meet him.
A rush of wind sent goosebumps across his skin before two strong hands gripped his shoulders tightly, keeping him upright and from nose-diving straight into the alleyway cement.
