    Summary

"Shane," Bood says firmly. And it sounds so wrong, because Bood never calls him Shane. Shane is always Hollzy. And Bood's voice is supposed to be loud and steady, not shaky. And Shane finally, finally becomes aware enough of his surroundings to feel the trembling of Bood's hands against his waist. "Shane, please. They're working on him. We need to give them space so they can—so they can make sure he's okay."

"He's my husband," Shane chokes out, not quite managing to choke down the sob that's been building up long enough to boil over. Bood makes a similarly choked noise at that. "You need to let me go. He's my husband."

    OR

Ilya gets injured on the ice during Shane's first season with the Centaurs. Shane loses his mind, a bit.

    Summary

To the NHL, the media, and a fiercely divided fanbase, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are bitter rivals. In reality, they've been hiding a relationship for nearly a decade.

When one stolen night together ends with them witnessing a murder, everything changes. Overnight, they're pulled into witness protection and hidden away in a remote cabin in the Montana mountains. The official story? Extended medical leave. The reality? Total lockdown.

For the first time, they don't have to hide from each other. As the threat of a powerful crime family looms outside the cabin, Shane and Ilya are forced to navigate more than just survival and isolation. With nowhere to run and no one else around, they finally have the chance to build the life they've only ever stolen in secret… if they can stay alive long enough to keep it.

    Summary

They weren’t friends, necessarily, but they got along at least. Rose was definitely skeptical of Ilya, suspicious of him and his intentions even, but she at least was playing nice with him now. He had resolved to be as warm with her as possible, unless she made it impossible to do so, because she was the best friend Shane had ever had and he genuinely wanted Rose to like him. Someone who mattered this much to Shane meant that she automatically mattered to Ilya too, and he wanted her to approve of him and like him as a person. It was kind of mortifying, because if you had asked Ilya six months ago if he would care if his partner’s best friend liked him, he would have laughed in your face. Now he was pandering to a woman who was a full head shorter than him and spent her days listening to children screech like wounded cats. Oh how things had changed.

Ilya and Shane are in love, and Ilya will be damned if he doesn’t win over Rose as well, because he knows how important she is to Shane, which means she’s now automatically important to Ilya too.

OR: A glimpse into the developing platonic relationship between Rose and Ilya.

    Summary

The sixth grade class this year was a fucking nightmare.

Ilya wasn’t usually the kind of teacher who liked to label an entire group of kids as anything, because kids are all unique and individual and there was no accurate way to describe an entire class using just one word. He still stands by that, mostly, except this year seems to be the exception because he only needed two words for this group of gremlins: fucking. Nightmare.

Ilya Rozanov teaches sixth grade social studies at Reid Middle School. Shane Hollander teaches eighth grade social studies next door. Together, they’ve been tasked with creating a mentorship program between the sixth and eighth grade classes in an attempt to curb some truly outrageous sixth grade behaviors. The only problem? The two men can barely tolerate each other at the best of times, and October in a middle school is not that. And, there’s the added layer that they both are stupidly in love with each other, because they REALLY don’t know how to go about anything the easy way.

OR: Two middle school social studies teachers discover they are just about as emotionally mature as their students. Yay frontal lobe development!

    Summary

    It’s his Person.

Missed you missed you missed you, he tries to convey with no mouth and no voice and all his heart. He’s reborn the way he died; the name of his Person nestled safe against his tongue.

Ilya,” Shane gasps, and his heart beats again.

Shane Hollander dies the second Ilya Rozanov’s plane goes down. It just takes a while for his body to catch up.

Thankfully, death isn't permanent — for either of them. Their tangled souls have been given a second chance at life, and they’re going to act like it. Which means never separating again. Ever.

After all, death can’t part them. Why should hockey?

(Shane's POV of BOGO, can be read as a standalone.)
