Heat spread across Ilya's face. His mouth fell open slightly. He let out a short, stuttered laugh of disbelief. This couldn't- he was straight, he wasn't-
“Finally got you at your own game.” Shane's smirk widened to a smile, his hand clapping down on Ilya's shoulder to squeeze it slightly. For once in his life, Ilya was unable to find his voice.
“Damn.” Shane laughed, jostling him a bit. “If I had known this was all it took to get you to shut the fuck up, I would have started flirting back years ago.”

When old college friends Ilya and Shane show up to their mutual best friend's wedding, they are ready to fulfill their duties as bridesmen. Even after years of not seeing each other, they fall right back into their usual banter.
Ilya loves to flirt with Shane. Shane loves to tell him to fuck off. It's a running bit. Nothing more than a joke between two friends; because Shane is gay and Ilya is straight and it doesn't actually mean anything…until Shane finally decides to flirt back, and Ilya's world suddenly tilts on its axis.

Shane lowered himself back down, one knee to the cushion, then the other, settling into Ilya's lap with none of the earlier teasing left in it. His hands came to rest on Ilya's shoulders. He looked down, close enough that Ilya could feel the heat coming off his skin through the thin cotton still between them.
"How does that sound to you?" Shane said, low, holding his gaze.
Ilya plans a game involving a set of sex dice to take Shane apart slowly.
He did not plan for Shane to win.

“Is that a fucking suit?”
“Shut up,” Shane replies, crossing his arms over his chest as if that’ll hide the suit he’s wearing. “I… I didn’t know what to wear to this sort of thing.”
Ilya throws his head back, leaning against the opposite wall. “Oh my god, Hollander, you look ridiculous.”
Shane should throw something at him, he really should, or maybe he should kick him out of his hotel room, but he doesn’t. He lets Ilya get his giggles out, his rival placing his hands on his knees as if trying to keep himself from collapse. “Are you done yet?”
Another snort leaves Ilya, then he puts his hands on his hips. “Sorry, sorry, I—“ He’s interrupted by more laughter, Ilya’s eyes giving him another once over. “I did not expect you to uh… dress-up?”
Or Shane doesn’t change out of the suit during his first time with Ilya. As told from both of their perspectives.
