Kris finds Berdly interesting. Just as they do for every other monster. Theres nothing more to it. Maybe an extra visit on Wikipedia, sure, but never anything more. Especially not multiple days worth of birdwatching. But of course, a stupid blue feather ended up wrecking those plans.

You think of all the times you would catch MEIKO staring out the window, silently disclosing her dissatisfaction for her role in this world. You never brought the topic up with her, but a small part of you agrees.
If you could escape from the SEKAI into the real world and live like a human being—living, breathing, existing—you'd take the chance with only a tiny bit of hesitation. You'd feel guilty for abandoning the girls, but you're sure they'd understand in due time. You'd hope they'd understand, eventually.
"I don't know what we are," you say. "I don't know what it means to be alive, but not real."

With mounting horror, as the reality of the fact that Hinata has unwittingly just eaten his engagement ring starts to sink in, Tobio buries his face in his hands and groans, long and loud into his palms.
This is a disaster. This is definitely the worst thing that has ever happened to him. This is worse than being benched. He has poisoned his boyfriend. Are engagement rings poisonous? Probably. At the very least they shouldn’t be ingested.
