    Not for Aerion, no. Nor for Egg. But Daeron had always known. Since he was small, he saw the tapestries upon the walls burn above his cradle, and he knew. Drink or delirium, it did not matter. One way or another, his visions would be the death of him.

    He had not reckoned he would have to suffer more than one.

    The gods want something from Daeron. They must, to have devised so exceptional a hell. For why else would they have him live these days over and over?

    If they have chosen Daeron to change the future, they have chosen the wrong man. Daeron is not a hero. He never has been.

    So many loops, so much trauma, so much improvement from our drowned cat blorbo. He has been going THROUGH IT. but maybe after all his deaths he is on the right track, interested to see what happens next. updates wednesdays.
    As of 8/19/2026 SPOLIERS - OK we made it through sooo many loops, Dunk and Daeron sleeping in a bed, everyone survived except that awful Kingsguard who didnt gaurd Egg and Daeron and who tried to kill Daeron so godd riddance, and Daeron is now taking up the mantel of the one eyed knight who seemed to be a herald/mouthpiece for the warrior charging everyone to be brave. Maybe that will be Daerons next task! I am curious if the burn on daerons hand (such a small thing but interestingly persistent) means anything. I think there will be dragons born again in this fic if some of the past dreams hold any sway. And interesting to see how Daerons relationship with Aerion continues. Also hoping that saving Baelor and telling Valarr, Baelor, and DUnk about his dreams means that they can stop the famine and sickness. Ok did dunk swear to bagel or and yayyy glad Darron will take on aerial and recognized all the things Adrian said to him WERE out of if not current then former affection. Excited for them to have that convo. Loved marker telling his son he loved him, he should do that more, but glad Darron had another person in his corner who will believe him

    He was nice enough to look at, Aerion decided. A strong nose bridge, plush lips and long eyelashes. 

    Which was surprising.

    At least for a wizard cosplayer who tried robbing people at odd hours of the night.

    Aerion sighed. He was absolutely done with tonight. He was ready to go home, sleep it off, and pretend it never happened. “Get up.”

    Silence. 

    Aerion huffed a breath. “This is how you choose to surrender?” he asked. “By playing dead?” He kicked him lightly in the side, prodding more than anything. 

    Nothing.

    (Or: The only thing Aerion hated more than college lectures and loose change was the royal jackass that seemingly spawned out of thin air.)

    Aerion likkeeeeeesss him, but love how he is still annoyed. Like thats facts. But curious about what the fortune teller means about him having not many days left to live. Curious how Valarr will think of that. And it was cute to see Aerion deal with sad sick Valarr, they both have secrets (the tourney at ashford and some legit resentment Valarr feels towards his aerion that is misplaced for this aerion) and the mystery of whatever happened in Aerions past that got him in trouble...
