This little drabble jumped into my mind at reading a comment on Violet83's sweet Valentine's fic. In this lovely short story, John Thornton wants to offer some cotton of his mill to Miss Hale, but his mind briefly goes THERE of course. The adorable sophiaquills made a funny comment which gave me an idea, and... well... here it is.
And of course, being my incorrigible self, I added a chapter... and then another... stop me.

He's a freshly appointed mill master who just came out of poverty and tries to thrive.
They both have to find their place in Milton and quickly become friends but soon have to sort out their feelings.
Set in the 1850s, like the novel.Complete. (There might be variations in the future, or little one shots from the same AU...)
