“Once you exit the shuttle you are free to return to your dorms. Those of you who are new, you’ll follow me to registration and physicals,” a vaguely familiar-looking officer says, and Jim’s heart stops in his chest. Surprising, considering it shouldn’t be beating at all.

It's ridiculous really, and absolutely obscene considering not only is that his coach, but he's 25 years his senior as well. But something about him just pulls Jude in.
Maybe it's the way he exudes maturity, or the scent of aftershave, or the way Haaland continues to praise him during practice and after games, but Jude just can't seem to get him out of his mind.
It was a fateful day in March after a win, his head up in the clouds off of the win, fantasising in public in front of live television crews about what Haaland could reward him with while he stood in front of a sea of reporters.
"-r. Bellingham, you're 28-" the reporter paused, catching himself as Jude raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"28? I'm only 20 mate. You've just added...8 years to me!" The comment was merely in jest but he couldn't help but wonder: if he was 28 as opposed 20, would Haaland want him?
