Summary
“-hello? Are you listening?”
“Huh?” Max blinked, pointing at himself. “Me?”
The girl huffed at his reaction.
“Yes, you.” The brunette rolled her eyes as if she was talking to a child –which she was doing in fact as a child–. “I’ve never seen you around here,” She said, tilting her head, “What’s your name?”
“Max. Max Hatter.” He said, voice wavering much to his embarrassment. The girl seemed to find it amusing as a small smile stretched across her face. “W-What’s yours?” He managed to ask.
“Hazel,” She said simply, playing with the hook in her hand “Hazel Hook.”

Summary
Max Hatter was a mess.
But he wasn’t supposed to be.
He should have been happy. He should have felt relieved. The man who had spent Max’s entire childhood making his life a living nightmare—keeping him trapped in constant fear and terror—was finally locked away in the Queen of Hearts’ dungeon.
He was safe.
His tormentor was gone.
So why didn’t Max feel better?
He had spent years imagining what it would feel like when the man who had hurt him was finally caught. He’d imagined relief. Freedom. Maybe even happiness.
Instead, there was nothing.
The capture of his tormentor should have saved him. It should have made everything okay.
But Max just felt… empty.
