"Hey, dumbass," she says.
Kris' heart stops twisting with guilt, and momentarily flutters instead. They glance up at her, their throat so tight that a response is nothing more than a fantasy. It's been like this for days at this point. They're not sure they're ever going to be fixed.
So instead of drilling guilt into their head, they reach for the whiteboard on their sidetable and lob it onto their sheets. It steadies atop their lap whilst their fingers scourage for a pen. A couple minutes pass of awkwardly silent scribbling, and then their head is back up again.
'hi' the whiteboard reads in bright pink pen.
Susie giggles at the scrawled lettering. "I thought shitty handwriting was my thing."
Kris scoffs, shaking their head whilst turning the board back around. They erase the writing, immediately replacing it with a different message — 'mine now'
Post-roaring oneshot, in which Susie sneaks out of her room to visit Kris with a small gift.
