And there it was. Son. What a shitty time for the grand reveal.
Peter never got around to telling Erik. When he got hurt by Jean and it looked like he might not make it, Charles took it into his own hands.
It was just a shame that Peter couldn't find it in himself to look Erik in the eye, no matter how much he wanted his dad.Written for House of Dadneto 2025: prompts - bedrest + apology.

Kurt Wagner’s life has become (relatively) steady: he’s got friends, classes, a routine, a place to sleep(even if he turns it down for the roof), a burgeoning mom/cool aunt figure in the woman who might actually be his mother, and even a crush who’d never in a million years like him back. Pietro ‘Peter’ Maximoff has reached a level of stability hitherto undreamt of: friends, classes, a sweet pad, an awkward relationship with the terrorist that was his birth father, and a foreign language grade that doesn’t suck abysmally thanks to the help of a really cute boy who he can actually catch his breath around. Classic school stuff, right?
Until Peter vanishes in the middle of the night, and both of them realize just how far they’re willing to go for the people they love. They’re not going to let each other go so easily. Not without a fight.
The night before Peter disappeared, Jean had woken up screaming.

“Fuck off Summers.” It surprises Scott how tired and hollow Lance sounds. Slowly and softly, Scott sits across from Lance. “I said fuck off Summers, I’m not in the mood to fight,” Lance says, his voice sounding void of his usual fight.
“Okay then, let’s not fight.” Lance snorts at that, when have they ever not fought when together? Scott decides to continue. “Why aren’t you with the rest of the Brotherhood? Don’t you all usually spend lunch together?” Lance still doesn’t look up.
Or Scott finds Lance alone during lunch, worried he’s planning a Brotherhood plot Scott tries to question him. Instead they bond.
