Summary
“What are you doing?”
Eurydice glances over her shoulder to see an impassive Hades. “Making your life more difficult,” she says, moving from the mortar mixer to the portable generator. When the pickaxe rips through the metal, it sends up a gratifying shower of sparks.
“Why?” he asks.
Eurydice swings again. “Why do you think?”— — —
Facing down an eternity of labor in Hadestown with nothing left to lose, Eurydice grabs a pickaxe and starts breaking Hades’ machines. It doesn't seem to change anything, but it makes her feel better—at least, until she wakes up on the train to Hadestown, starting the cycle all over again.

Summary
Technoblade is twelve when his life is ruined.
There are programs, initiatives for the Gifted. For those granted otherworldly powers that are beyond the scope of mortal capabilities. Usually the Academy scoops them up when they’re barely children, sequestering them away to inundate them with shadowy, nebulous ‘training regimens’. Usually, none of them are seen again.
