Anakin would remove the scales off of my shell, little by little, until I was standing before the Empire with nothing to hide behind. But as I stood in the light, it is my own shadow that was least expected. Turns out, the closer one gets to the spotlight, the bigger their shadow.

Summary
Follows Kallus as the very foundations of his life, and his most precious relationships are twisted and poisoned by his continued loyalty to the Empire. He finds it more and more difficult to silence the still small voice that wants him to question, to doubt but to go from blind loyalty to betrayal is a journey that is neither easy nor quick.
Kallus also struggles with imposter syndrome as he negotiates the whirlpools of Coruscant's high society. Tries to square his oath to root out corruption and treason while also needing to turn a blind eye to the elegant cesspool in which many of Coruscant's elites swim.
He tries to protect his half brother while still staying true to what drove him to become an ISB agent in the first place -- to see justice done and peace restored to a shattered galaxy, political system and economy.
