Summary
Mira's brows twitch.
"I… I know now isn't the time, but I'm realizing that actually I haven't seen you get sick. Like, ever. Is that—"
"A demon thing?" Rumi whispers. "Probably. Celine always said I had a strong immune system."
Mira makes a face. One that Rumi would've struggled to decipher even if her vision wasn't so blurry.
"Celine… knows?"~
In the immediate aftermath of Namsan tower, Rumi wakes up the following morning sick as a dog. Zoey and Mira help her through it, while also confronting their emotions and assumptions about the events of the last 24 hours.

Summary
She’s done everything she can think of to help, after all. The only thing that’s left is to wait and see if Miss All Sunday wakes back up again. So she hugs her knees to her chest and leans her cheek on one arm, and watches the slight but still present rise and fall of Miss All Sunday’s breathing. She thinks about a place full of endless laughter and food and music, where someone like her could live and not have to be afraid. Mr. 0 had called it Utopia, and Mama had called it Fiddler’s Green. She thinks about what Princess Vivi said to her about finding her place, and wonders if she’ll ever be able to reach someplace like that if only she keeps looking.
She wonders if, when she wakes up, Miss All Sunday will want to look with her.
Or:
Somewhere along the line, Crocodile picks up a logia. She probably would've been more useful to him if she'd been a little older though.

Summary
The vast majority of human predators are terrestrial, meaning humanity never evolved the instinct to look up when searching for threats.
Gwi-Ma knows this and as such gave a gift to his most clever followers.
Powerful enough demons can grow wings; massive, leathery constructs which allow them to drop out of the sky and carry away their prey.
Rumi's back split open when she was 14.
Or. When a part of her demonic heritage becomes impossible to hide, Rumi takes drastic measures

Summary
“Rumi?” Mira questioned uncertainly. The demons had frozen as well, staring at Rumi as she stared back. The tense silence stretched. The hallway felt like the oxygen had been sucked out and the dim lighting cast shadows all around.
“Rumi, there’s no such thing as half demons. We would know. Celine would have told us. It has to be a trick….” Zoey said but it was clear she still had her own reservations.
And what could Rumi say to that? Celine had said she could find no records of any other half demons, not anywhere in the archive. How could hunters have never encountered a single half demon in the nearly 800 years since the honmoon was created? What were the chances they would meet them now, in this generation, when Rumi herself was one? It felt like a trap. It had to be a trap.
But…
“Rumi?”
“She’s bleeding.” She said softly. “Demons don’t bleed.”
