Summary
Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)
Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.
And they argue.

Summary
It was the clichés still too present in books and movies. An Alpha or Omega falling in love with someone of their same nature was the beginning of a star-crossed lovers' story, a classic story of forbidden and unwell attraction that would inevitably end up in tragedy.
And Betas? Oh, they were better off falling in love with other Betas.
It was unique then—after years and Naruto's last relationship—that Sasuke and Naruto stopped believing in what was expected from them.
