Alexei isn't just following Bucky around like a lost puppy—he remembers all of that lost history. He’s a man looking for connection, eager to jog Bucky’s memory so they might rekindle what they once had, burdened with the fear that it might all be water under the bridge.
The tension between them can only stretch so far before it snaps, and these two will try and piece together some semblance of a relationship, complete with all the bumps in the road that come with that.

This whole thing felt like a big joke. Because it was. Clark heard Lois and Jimmy and Steve giggle as he dragged his feet out the door. He was tasked with the impossible but if he failed, his job was jeopardized. Or at least, that’s what Perry told him in a very stern voice that afternoon.
