    As children, Fjord and Jester were friends, communicating mostly by letters.

    Then Fjord’s ship was attacked and it left him with no memory of his life before. He becomes a pirate, then a captain, then the Plank King of Darktow.
    Jester, meanwhile, believes that Fjord is dead. She still meets The Traveler, then the rest of the Mighty Nein. Helping Yasha contact the Stormlord leads them to the open sea, where they are attacked by pirates and led to Darktow.
