Summary
Sam Porter Bridges has connected the UCA and defeated Higgs. These days, he's mostly back to doing what he does best: delivering packages, wandering farther than he probably should, and getting himself into trouble.
When curiosity leads him off the beaten path, Sam discovers a voidout no one knew existed and a strange vessel stranded in the tar. Inside is a badly injured stranger who needs his help. Unfortunately, something in the water wants him back.
And Sam has never been particularly good at leaving people behind.

Summary
Henry sucks in a breath. "I wish you didn’t have to see this. You seem like a good person.” He whispers.
He takes another deep breath before his hands move to slide his body off the building when Grace suddenly grabs Henry’s hand. Smushing both their hands against the rough surface.
“Wait.” Its abrupt. It’s something Henry should've expected.
“Give me five days to at least try and convince you to stay.” Grace lets out a shaky breath. “Once those five days are up, I can’t promise to leave you alone—but I can promise you that I will help you find a reason to stay before those days are up. Please, Henry. Don't throw your life away.”
or
Henry can't handle the aftermath of surviving the crash and Grace just can't let his past student take his own life.

Summary
Captain Simon Park and his crew agree to kidnap Lord Ryland Grace for ransom.
It ought to be simple enough: take the supposedly sickly heir from his father’s estate, keep him safely aboard the Iron Starling for a handful of weeks, and return him once Count Grace decides his only son is worth paying for.
Except Ryland is neither sickly nor difficult. He is polite, capable, strangely resigned to his own captivity—and, before long, slipping into lessons beneath the open sky, shared meals, borrowed names, and the quiet rituals of a crew that has made a family out of the unwanted.
Then the ransom goes unanswered.
And Simon begins to wonder whether anyone ashore ever intended for Lord Ryland Grace to come home at all.
