What if Restys never removed the cuff placed on Coco and Tartah at the end of Silver Eve?
After Qifrey, Olruggio, and the girls return home to their atelier, Coco seeks out Olruggio for help removing the cuff. He succeeds, but at a cost: the cuff transfers to him, branding him with a spell that makes it impossible for him to lie.
For Olruggio, that means the feelings he’s spent more than a decade harboring for his best friend may no longer be left unspoken. For Qifrey, it means the secrets that have kept him alive may finally be uncovered by the very person he’s tried his hardest to protect by keeping him in the dark.
When Olruggio begins to suspect that Coco and Qifrey have been hiding something ever since the festival, Qifrey doesn’t know how much longer he can keep the truth from him—and none of it will matter in the end if the Order discovers the forbidden magic on Olruggio first.
