That’s it.”
“How little is a little horny?”
“I dunno. Like, pre-period horny, probably? Ovulation horny? Mi-ra, don’t tell me you’re having second thoughts! We decided to do this ages ago.”
“That was before I read the packaging,” says Mira, audibly unimpressed. “The bright-red packaging with, like, a million warnings on it-”
“Coward,” Zoey goads. “Thought you were supposed to be the rebel. Thought you got too wild and now that’s how you’re getting paid.”
Rumi snorts again, and this time it’s Mira who glares and Zoey who grins.

“W-What—hey!” Zoey’s voice trembles, shaken to her core as she stares at the restraint wrapped around her ankle. Restless pants escape Zoey as she tries moving her leg, a frustrated cry leaving her lips when it proves futile. She can’t move, she can’t escape—the ankle restraint effectively chains her to one of the bedposts.
“T-This isn’t funny, you two. L-Let me go!” For all the bravado Zoey puts on, there’s no way to disguise the wavering in her voice. She trembles as Mira and Rumi stand at the foot of the bed, wicked smiles and dark eyes fixed upon her.
“Now why would we do that? When we have you right where we want you?” Rumi bares her teeth, a predatory smile stamped on her face as she flicks the nightstand lamp on. Yellow warms the bedroom, but it does nothing to ward away the chill in Zoey’s chest. Rumi’s eyes flicker with gold in the lighting and it makes her look downright feral.

"A demon thing?" Rumi whispers. "Probably. Celine always said I had a strong immune system."
Mira makes a face. One that Rumi would've struggled to decipher even if her vision wasn't so blurry.
"Celine… knows?"~
In the immediate aftermath of Namsan tower, Rumi wakes up the following morning sick as a dog. Zoey and Mira help her through it, while also confronting their emotions and assumptions about the events of the last 24 hours.
