Verso fully intended for Gustave to die at Renoir’s hand. He'd been hoping and planning for this while stalking them across the Continent, crafting ideas on how to insert himself into the empty space left behind, using the man's death as kindling to instill a burning drive in Alicia to force their mother out of the Canvas at long last. This had been his single-minded goal from the beginning of Expedition 33's doomed journey. Everything hinged upon on this one moment, this small sacrifice in a long line of expedition martyrs.
But somehow, despite all of his meticulous planning, he didn't take into account the possibility that the man could be his Alpha.

Summary
La douleur exquise, they had begun to call it — “the exquisite pain.” Love, unrestrained, unrealized, with nowhere to go — transformed into a poison that slowly choked its victims upon their own desire. The feeling of wanting someone so badly you wanted to die from the agony, knowing that you will never, ever, be theirs — ceaselessly growing from within until the grief of wanting slowly chokes you and shreds you from within. The flower of death, fleur de mort, fertilized by yearning that will never bloom.
For Verso, it was a distant concept, worth less than a passing daydream. At least, until the first blood-stained petals fell from his lips in a shadowed alleyway of Lumière, stinging and biting at his throat on its hacking way out.

Summary
Ever since the Dessendres saved Lumière from the Fracture, the city has sent tributes in gratitude. As this year's offering, Sciel, Lune, and Gustave cross the sea to the Continent and are welcomed into the Dessendre family’s opulent home.

Summary
100 years ago a Void appeared in the United States and in it blood thirsting monsters started to emerge. What were used to be known as fairy tales and old stories made to make children cry, are now real. Till is one of the humans in camps on Earth who are hiding from these creatures.
After a scavenging of berries gone horribly wrong, Till is captured by a lot of vampires and brought to participate in a Giving. In it, Till is presented to the King and Prince on a silver platter. Till tries his best to live with Prince Ivan, but how can he let someone drink his blood when they look like that?
